HOW WE ARE KID FRIENDLY: - We have BPA-Free plastic dinnerware, cutlery and sippy cups. - Though not installed, we also provide outlet covers for guests to place where needed. - -- We have a high chair, Pack and Play/playpen, and 3 gates that can be put where needed. - The door to the downstairs has an auto closure to help keep kids safe and our courtyard is gated. - There are lots of woods to explore and places to play in the yard. WHAT MIGHT NOT WORK FOR SOME KIDS: - The cabin has a sunken living room with 2 short steps and a double-sided fireplace that is almost impossible to put guards around. Cleaning supplies and trash may be stored in these cabinets. - Though we work to minimize this, some cords and corners could be exposed. - We also have two large pieces of artwork made of steel. FIREPOT: - Do not build fires on windy days or when there is a “burn ban”. - Please build fires in designated areas only. Building a fire outside of the fire pot or moving the fire pot away from its designated area is dangerous and will incur a $100 maintenance and safety fee. - Do not burn anything other than wood, paper, and fire briquettes. - Make sure the fire is dead out before leaving unattended. - Do not dump coals and ash in the woods. Please use the ash bucket provided. PETS: - Pets are not allowed on the property at any time. IS 4-WHEEL DRIVE NECESSARY? 4-Wheel/All Wheel drive is generally not necessary, but is highly recommended in winter. We visited the region for years in a Honda sedan without issue. Rear wheel drive vehicles with really low ground clearance (like some hatchbacks and mini-vans), as well as light vehicles (Prius and small 2-wheel drive trucks), are not ideal and take the most experience to drive in the mountains of NC. The way to the cabin is almost entirely on paved roads. The last 1-2 minutes is on a gravel road with one steep spot just before you turn onto our lane which is flat. In winter 4WD is recommended for the mountains in general in case there is snow or ice. PHONE SERVICE: Verizon is the primary mobile carrier for the area. Other mobile users are encouraged to check their carrier's coverage in the region. LANDSCAPERS: According to season, staff may come onto the property to mow and tend to landscaping. Out of necessity this may occur while the property is occupied and without notice. (Though we do try to make guests aware.) TV HOUSE ACCOUNTS Guests are welcome to use the house accounts for Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu Live TV Plus. Please do not log out of these house accounts. If you would like to use other apps though feel free to use your own login, but please remember to delete it from the system before you leave. Please Do Not Use: Glitter, confetti, plastic beads, plastic rose petals, tape on the walls, nails, hair dye… things of this nature, as extra cleaning charges may apply Guests are required to complete the pre-arrival form and sign & agree to our rental conditions, which will be sent in an email shortly after booking. For stays longer than 2 weeks an additional cleaning fee may be required.

This place was beautiful and so peaceful! We loved that it had all the essentials, from games to utensils to trash bags, everything we needed was already there. The space was clean and looked exactly like the photos. Lisa was amazing as well. She checked in to make sure we arrived safely and was helpful throughout our stay. One tip: if you’re not used to driving up hills (like me, a city girl lol) just take it slow and take your time. Overall, we had a great stay and really enjoyed it!

We spent 4 nights in the upstairs half of the house and felt truly at home! We cooked a ton and felt like the kitchen had everything we would have had in our own. The views were amazing from both bedrooms, beds were comfortable and the linens felt hotel! Literally took pictures of tags so I could bring the cozy vibes home. Haha definitely worth the price and the experience was top notch!

This place was magical… I went there to finish my children’s book, and my family joined me after two days. This is not a normal Airbnb, this is an experience. The energy of the house is fantastic and just flows so well into the beauty outside. The widows are huge and let the mountains in, as do the many decks and patios. We ate outside for every meal. There is a sweet little deck by the front door that gets afternoon sunlight that is the perfect place for yoga. The beds are SO COMFORTABLE. This is my number one worry, and every bed was perfect. There are so many extra pillows as well. Lastly, the Japanese tub is amazing. We loved every second of this perfect trip. 💜

This place is a wonderful home away from home! It blends comfy and convenient and homey seamlessly, with extra perks like room to spread out, rooms with views, and room to roam. It's modern and clean without feeling too stuffy or unusable. We loved our stay, especially all the picture window views, and hope to get back soon!

One of the best homes we’ve stayed in! Unique and beautiful. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen expertly equipped. The views are fabulous and I made some serious eye contact with quite a few deer! Would love to stay here again!

Directions and access instructions will be emailed to you prior to arrival. ROAD & DRIVEWAY: The gravel road leading to the driveway can be steep at the top for some vehicles that are especially low to the ground, such as Mini Coopers or sports cars, or light vehicles, such as Prius or small trucks. Using a lower gear can be helpful. The owners have a truck and a typical sedan and have no trouble getting up the road or driveway. Four/All wheel drive is not typically required, but if you are renting a vehicle, this option might be a good choice for the mountains - especially in winter. Chains for tires are a good option if you are visiting in the winter and do not have 4-wheel drive and you are concerned about getting around.
